A little bit about me...

Sander-Tuned was originally founded in 2002 by myself (Sander Marques) and two of my friends under the name “Mixed Motorsports.” As time went on, I continued to follow my passion of engine dynamics and tuning. Over the years, I have become the premier source for Hondata tuning and engine work for Hondas in the greater Baltimore/Maryland area. My work with Hondata and Honda Engine Management Systems is quickly grabbing attention all around the MD, DC, VA, WVA area. From all motor SOHC D-series engines, to built turbocharged B-series, I can tune your car so that you are getting all the reliable horsepower from your Honda. In addition to providing services to the local Honda community, I feel that the best way to showcase my work is on the track. You can find the Mixed Motorsports/Sander-Tuned crew at local karting venues, autocrosses, and HPDE’s. If you ever see one of us at the track don’t hesitate to say, “Hey!”

I have been working with engines and race cars for many years specializing in Honda Automobiles, Hondata Engine Management Systems, AEM EMS Systems, and recently has begun spanning out in to the BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche world. I have extensive knowledge in road racing set-up and safety preparation experience stemming from my own trials and tribulations with my Acura Integra Race Car. In addition to my own car, I have also maintained, tuned and worked on SCCA SSB and SSC cars, a large number of the East Coast Honda Challenge Racecars, a World Challenge Pontiac Firebird, and many NASA HPDE/Track Day Cars. More specifically, I have many years of Hondata tuning experience (from when Hondata still sold as a staged unit with serial numbers LESS than 600!!!), and also Hondata’s K-Pro. From engine/electrical diagnosis to set up advisement, I am a good knowledge base to fine-tune your set-up.

As far as engine work goes, I have built every popular Honda engine ranging from exotics such as the S2000’s F20C, to the simplest single cam D15 Turbo set-ups. I also have many hours with K-series engines, being that my own race car is K20 powered.
